PrepPro wasn’t born in a boardroom—it started as a simple dream, an idea sparked over countless late-night conversations between two parents trying to create a better life for their family. We’re Tom and Ash, the founders of PrepPro, but more importantly, we’re parents to four incredible kids—three boys and one girl, ranging from 1 to 9. Like many Aussie families, we wanted a way to balance work, family, and the unpredictable curveballs life throws our way.
It all started with a small goal: sell 10-20 survival kits a month so Ash could stay home and focus on raising our little ones while Tom worked away. Nothing fancy, just a side hustle to make life a little easier. But what happened next was something we never expected.
We created a social media page, thinking a few like-minded people might be interested in our gear. Instead, we were met with an overwhelming response. People connected with our vision. They shared our passion for preparedness, self-reliance, and quality gear that could stand up to real-world use. Their support ignited a fire in us, making us believe that this dream could be something bigger.
So, we went all in. No investors, no fancy agencies—just two determined parents pouring everything we had (and a bit of what we didn’t) into building PrepPro from the ground up. We designed our website, sourced our products, handled shipping, created clothing, and built survival kits, all while juggling family life. Have we made mistakes? Absolutely. Are our photos as polished as a high-end brand? Not yet. Is our website as sleek as the big guys? Maybe not. But it’s real. It’s built with heart, hustle, and an unshakable belief in what we’re doing.
In just four months, we turned an idea into a business that’s growing faster than we ever imagined. Countless late nights, early mornings, and all-nighters later, PrepPro is now more than just a brand—it’s a community. A movement.
