🔞 Why we verify ID on blade products

Knives and blade tools sold by PrepPro Australia are age-restricted. Every blade order goes through photo ID verification before we dispatch it. You must be 18 years or older to purchase.

We do this so blades reach the right hands, and so we can demonstrate we've done our due diligence if we're ever asked to.

✅ How it works

  1. Place your order as normal. Nothing extra is needed at checkout.
  2. Complete verification. Our verification partner, RealID, will prompt you to submit a photo of your ID. Keep an eye on your inbox after ordering.
  3. We dispatch. Once RealID confirms you're 18 or over, your order ships as usual.

Verification is usually quick. Your order won't leave our warehouse until it's complete, so finishing it promptly keeps your delivery on schedule.

🪪 What ID we accept

Any current government-issued photo identification showing your date of birth. That includes:

  • Australian driver licence
  • Passport
  • State or territory Proof of Age card
  • Other current government-issued photo ID

The document must be current, and your date of birth and photo must both be legible.

🔒 What happens to your ID

We keep your verification record for 12 months, then delete it.

We hold it for that period for one reason only: so we can show proof of age verification if we are ever asked to produce it. It is not used for marketing, it is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone other than as required to meet that obligation.

📍 Where we ship

We ship blade products Australia-wide. We don't restrict any states, territories or postcodes, provided ID verification is completed successfully.

⚠️ Your responsibility

Laws covering the purchase, possession, carry and transport of knives differ between states and territories, and they change.

Verifying your age confirms you meet the minimum age to purchase. It does not confirm that owning or carrying a particular blade is lawful where you live or where you intend to take it.

Before ordering, please familiarise yourself with the knife laws that apply in your state or territory. Responsibility for complying with those laws rests with you as the purchaser.

❓ Common questions

Does verification delay my order?
Only until you complete it. We dispatch as soon as RealID confirms your age, so the sooner you finish, the sooner it ships.

Do I need to verify every time I order?
If you've already been verified, contact us before assuming you'll need to repeat it.

What if I don't complete verification?
We can't dispatch a blade order without it. Get in touch and we'll sort out your options.

Can someone else verify on my behalf?
No. The ID must belong to the person placing the order.
