A full-size multi-band radio for the home kit, with four ways to keep it running.
This radio covers AM, FM and two shortwave bands, with an adjustable volume and built-in speaker. Its 1200mAh 18650 lithium battery charges from the solar panel, the hand crank or USB, and it can also run on 3 x AA batteries (not included). A 5V USB output lets you top up a phone in an emergency.
For light it has an LED headlamp-style torch, four reading LEDs and a flashing red light for signalling.

Crank at a steady pace rather than forcing the handle. Solar charging is slow and works best as a top-up in full sun; use USB to fully charge before storing.
Contains a lithium battery. Charge it every 2–3 months when stored so it is ready to use, and store it somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun and away from heat. Do not leave it charging unattended on soft furnishings. Remove AA/AAA batteries for long-term storage to avoid leakage.
Not stated as water resistant; keep dry. Shortwave reception varies with time of day and location; extend the antenna fully for best results.
