Actual flow rates may vary based on water quality, installation and environmental conditions.

The ceramic core is rated for up to approximately 6,000 litres of total throughput when the source water is consistently clear — similar in clarity to treated tap water. The dirtier or more turbid the source water, the more sediment the membrane has to trap, which shortens its usable life before it needs backwashing or replacing.

As a rough guide, based on source water clarity:

• Clear, tap-quality water: up to ~6,000L
• Lightly turbid water (clear rainwater tank, clean flowing creek): approximately 3,000–4,000L
• Moderately turbid water (murky creek, dam or pond water): approximately 1,000–1,500L
• Heavily silted or muddy water (floodwater, stagnant puddles): approximately 200–500L

These figures are general estimates, not guarantees — actual capacity depends on the specific sediment load, mineral content and how regularly the core is backwashed. For heavily silted water, pre-filtering through a cloth or letting sediment settle before it reaches the core will noticeably extend filter life.
