20x50 Compact Hunting Binoculars

Mid-sized 20x50 binoculars with BAK4 prisms, multi-layer coating and a nitrogen-filled body, aimed at bird watching and hiking.

These 20x50 binoculars have BAK4 prisms with multi-layer coated lenses, a rubber-covered body and a centre focus knob with a right-eye adjustment ring. The supplier says the body is nitrogen-filled and waterproof, and that they can be used on a tripod.

A quick guide to the numbers: 20x is the magnification and 50 is the objective lens diameter in millimetres. The 50mm lenses gather a decent amount of light for the magnification, so the view is brighter in low light than a smaller pair at the same power. The supplier's wording mentions 'night vision', but these are optical binoculars only. They do not amplify light, so they will not let you see in the dark.

Better light gathering than the pocket binoculars means these are more useful at dawn and dusk, when you are most likely to be glassing a landscape.

Accessories or items shown in promotional imagery are not included unless listed above.

Do not look at the sun through any binoculars; it can permanently damage your eyes.

At 20x, hand shake is noticeable. Brace against a post or use a tripod. Keep lenses clean and dry.
