๐ Description
2 kg of Australian-made coconut shell granular activated carbon for water treatment and filtration.
Orku GAC is steam-activated coconut shell carbon in 6 x 12 mesh granules (about 1.6 to 2 mm). Packed into a filter vessel, cartridge or gravity filter, it adsorbs chlorine, organic compounds and the volatile organic compounds that cause bad odour and taste as water passes through the granules.
The supplier states it is manufactured in Australia under ISO 9001 quality accreditation, with an iodine number of 1200, a common measure of how much an activated carbon can absorb.

๐งญ Why Preppers Need This
Granular carbon is the stage in a home-built water filter that takes out chlorine taste, odours and many organic chemicals. Stored and tank water can turn stale or musty, and town water often tastes of chlorine, so carbon makes water far more pleasant to drink. Keeping a bag on hand means you can refill or build a filter yourself instead of relying on replacement cartridges.

โ ๏ธ Important Information & Care
Activated carbon improves taste and odour and reduces chlorine and many organic compounds. It does not remove bacteria, viruses or dissolved salts, and it does not make untreated water safe to drink. Use it alongside boiling, chemical treatment or a rated microbiological filter if the water may be unsafe.
Rinse the granules before first use to remove dust.
A slower flow rate gives the water more contact time with the carbon and better results.
Carbon becomes exhausted over time; replace it when taste or odour returns.
Store sealed in a dry place.
