๐ Description
5 kg of fine, steam-activated coconut shell charcoal powder for water treatment.
Orku activated charcoal powder is made from steam-activated coconut shell. It is a black, odourless, very fine powder (325 mesh), packed in a resealable bag. In water treatment, powdered activated carbon is mixed into the water and given contact time, during which it adsorbs chlorine, organic impurities and the compounds that cause unpleasant odour and taste. The powder is then filtered or settled out.
Because the powder is so fine, it must be removed with a fine filter or allowed to settle before the water is used, as it will pass straight through coarse cloth or mesh. For packed filter beds and gravity filters, the granular grade (GAC) is usually the easier choice.

๐งญ Why Preppers Need This
Stored water and tank water can pick up stale, musty or chemical tastes, and town water often tastes of chlorine. Activated carbon is one of the most widely used materials for improving the taste and smell of water. It also has a long shelf life when kept dry and sealed, so a bag in storage stays useful for years.

Accessories or items shown in promotional imagery are not included unless listed above.
โ ๏ธ Important Information & Care
Activated carbon improves taste and odour and reduces chlorine and many organic compounds. It does not kill or remove bacteria, viruses or dissolved salts, and it does not make untreated water safe to drink. If the water may be unsafe, boil it, treat it chemically or use a rated microbiological filter as well.
Remove the powder with a fine filter or let it settle before using the water.
Fine powder is very messy and stains. Open and pour carefully, ideally outdoors, and avoid breathing in the dust.
Store sealed in a dry place.
