X-BULL Winch Recovery Kit with Gen 2.0 Recovery Tracks, 13 Piece, Orange

An X-BULL winch accessory kit with a pair of orange Gen 2.0 recovery tracks, so you have both traction and winching gear in one order.

The kit is designed to go with an X-BULL or other brand winch. It includes a 9m polyester tow strap rated by the supplier to 8,000kg, which can be used as a winch extension strap, tree trunk protector or tow strap, two 4.75 tonne forged steel shackles, an 8 tonne snatch block for doubling the pull or changing direction, and a damper to lay over the line.

A forged aluminium shackle hitch receiver gives you a recovery point in a 50mm square hitch receiver, and the tyre deflator lets you drop pressures for sand or rough tracks.

The Gen 2.0 tracks measure 910 x 310 x 60mm each, are moulded from reinforced nylon and are rated by the supplier to 10 tonnes on flat ground.

Vehicle recovery can kill or seriously injure people if it goes wrong. Please follow standard recovery safety practice every time:

• Attach straps and shackles only to rated recovery points. Never use a tow ball, tie-down point or bumper as a recovery point.
• Fit a strap damper or recovery blanket over the winch line or strap on every pull.
• Keep bystanders well clear, outside the danger zone around the line, and stand clear yourself while the line is under load.
• Inspect every strap, shackle, block and fitting before every use. Retire anything cut, frayed, heat-damaged, bent or cracked.
• Never exceed the rated capacity of the lowest-rated item in the setup. A snatch block roughly doubles the load on its anchor point.
• Get trained in vehicle recovery before relying on this gear. 4WD clubs and accredited trainers run recovery courses.

About the strap: some supplier listings call this a snatch strap, but the supplier specifies it as an 8,000kg, 9m polyester tow strap. Polyester has very little stretch, so it should not be used as a kinetic (snatch) recovery strap. Use it as a winch extension strap, tree trunk protector or tow strap. For kinetic recoveries, use a purpose-made nylon snatch strap with a stated minimum breaking strength suited to your vehicle. The supplier does not say whether the 8,000kg rating is the minimum breaking strength.

About the recovery tracks: they are rated by the supplier to 10 tonnes on flat ground. Recovery tracks are traction aids. Do not use them as ramps, jacking bases or to bridge holes or gaps, and keep people clear of the wheels when driving onto them.

The shackles are rated by the supplier at 4.75 tonnes. Check the working load limit (WLL) stamped on each shackle and do not exceed it. Do the pin up fully, then back it off a quarter turn so it does not seize. The shackle hitch receiver must go into a rated recovery hitch receiver.

The tyre deflator is for off-road tyre pressure adjustment. Reinflate to your on-road pressures before driving back onto sealed roads.
